The story of ProPainters Inc. begins in a small town in SW MN with a boy still too young to have a driver’s license named Jason. The kids around there would look for summer work-they would mow lawns, bale hay, pick rocks, detassel corn…. but one of the projects that has stuck with him over the years was a barn painting project. Jason and a friend would ride their bikes out to the country to paint this barn. Jason’s motivation became this old Buick sitting nearby with weeds growing up around it…
The farmer supplied the paint, gave them directions from the ground or the tractor seat as they scraped the old paint off and brushed on the new, perched precariously on a tractor bucket-extension ladder barely reaching the top! A Painters life was born… . “Jason never got his dream car—the farmer said it was too fast for him. But don’t worry, we’ll get into that story after we finish discussing how slow he drives!”
The early days were filled with hard work and the satisfaction of a job well done, even if the work was far from glamorous or even sometimes safe. Jason learned things that would carry him through the decades to come: a relentless work ethic, a commitment to doing things the right (and safe) way, and a love for the craft that would later define his career.
Fast forward to the creation of ProPainters Inc., a company born from that very passion and dedication. As the owner and creator, Jason has poured his many years of experience and business acumen into this painting enterprise. His journey from those barn-painting days to leading one of the most respected painting companies in Minneapolis is a testament to his dedication to his faith, determination and vision.
Alongside Jason is Lisa, the love of his life and his partner in every sense of the word. While Jason may be the bearded billboard for ProPainters Inc, Lisa is the secret sauce in this paint-stained recipe for success., While Jason’s out front with his best ‘Trust me, I’m a painter’ smile, Lisa’s behind the scenes, solving problems like a superhero in a cape (but with way more style). Her keen eye for detail, common sense approach and supportive nature make her a vital part of the team. Together, they’ve built ProPainters Inc into more than just a business—it’s a color-filled family.

And when they’re not running the business, you’ll find them hosting bible studies in their home, enjoying the great outdoors at their camper, cheering on their favorite race cars, restoring an old 1970 Javelin he purchased or simply spending cherished moments with their grandchildren, to whom Jason is affectionately known as “Paw-Paw.” (Even more recently PaPie-thanks to their youngest granddaughter Shohannah)
